The Dominican Sisters in Nigeria, with support from Dominican Sisters International DSI, have established and equipped three vocational training shops in Makurdi to empower Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) through skills acquisition in tailoring, hairdressing, and barbing.
Representatives of the Dominican Sisters from Gusau, Mafoluku, and Mbaise - Sr. Esther Upaa, Sr. Francisca Onyebuchi, and Sr. Gloria Umanachi were in Makurdi to commission the project. They were joined by Sr. Kate Adaeze Eze, Sr. Juliana Idoko, and Sr. Queen Iashember, who also supported the initiative.
The Skills ACquisition Centers are located along George Akume Way, near the IDP Camp at the Makurdi International Market, Benue State.
